Thanks for posting the dealer list. Nice to find out I should have a local dealer when the trucks arrive.
You are welcome!
Correction- I e-mailed Palmetto Auto Group today and they responded that they have declined the Mahindra dealership for Charleston.
Thank you for the correction, Hugh. I’ve deleted them from the list..
This is exactly what the U.S. has needed for 20 years. Not since the early Hilux, Mitsu and domestic small “basic” trucks have I bought a new one. This is more desirable than any of those in that it has that incredible diesel. I have a feeling Americans will DEVOUR this truck. I hope you never try to make it a luxo-truck, too many of those already. I can see these in service fleets, as well. Welcome to America, Mahindra! Looking forward owning one.
The specs of this truck blow the Ford Ranger away. ford states that their 4cylinder has around 140 hp and gets 27 mpg with a manual. The biggest point is that Mahindra’s trucks have more payload than F150s unless you get the heavy duty hauling package ($1500 upgrade 2660lb capacity standard payload 1600lbs). The Mahindra truck looks like it would have all of the spec power to blow the compition, domestic and import away. The price is great considering GMC’s upcharge to Diesel in a 2500 truck is $7195.00. Im guessing if GMC offered a midsize truck with a diesel option, it would run $4000 to $5000. I can’t wait to see the TR2 trucks.
My grandfather bought an Isuzu pup 4×4 DIESEL brand new back in 1981. That thing was pulling tree stumps till the day he sold it. Best little truck ever! I have approached local Ford and Toyota dealers with brochures from Austria/Germany, that have the four door turbo diesels in them. They think they are awesome but scratch their heads when asked about getting one. There is a niche for the small business man that this fills perfectly. The package of 4×4, diesel, and small truck has been ignored since the 80’s and market advantage may go to Mahindra.
Hi there, I do believe you do have a excellent blog and it is just like my niche and I’d like to exchange links with you. Would you be interested in doing this? Thank you
I’ve been a Ford man my whole life. It frosts me that Ford in all their infinite wisdom has not seen the light with a small, strong, durable, high mileage diesel. My 03 F150 will be traded in a heartbeat if this truck proves itself. “Sorry Ford” I’ve owned 7 Fords thus far. But I know what I’m looking for and I also know I’m not alone.
its going to be like a yugo ! all the hype and no go think about parts down the road will they be there i dont think so mahindra wonts all the pie and they are trying to push global out and are going to shoot ther own foot im buying a ford been wating 1 1/2 years for newa and no one from eather co. lats any thing out so iv gone to ford
